THE TERMS & CONDITIONS
The students are to attend their regular
classes, (Timetable enclosed and all required classes are listed on the
enrolment form) must be attended) This is vital for students to develop and
keep abreast of their syllabus work. Students must be punctual to classes to
ensure they receive a complete warm up. Notification is required if students
are to be absent.
Wellington Dance Academy students are
required to retain corrections from each class and implement them in future
lessons. Students must show that they are practising outside class time with
the retention of syllabus work and choreographed items.
All students must be appropriately dressed
for class in the correct uniform (alternative leotards maycbe worn for
vocational classes) & correct foot wear. Hair must be fastened in a bun or
a ballet appropriate style. No excess jewellery to be worn.
It is suggested parents watch their child’s
class every few weeks, to help encouragement at home (NOT every lesson!) Parents
watching must remain silent with cell phones off, it is preferable that younger
siblings do not watch as they are a distraction.
Private lessons will be provided for those
wishing to attend regular competitions. A regular half hour will be provided
per week, in the event that the regular teacher is unavailable a replacement
will be provided or the studio will be available for practice.
Fees are strictly payable in advance,
unless prior payment arrangement is made. Payment is ideally made via direct credit
or at the Boutique counter. Failure to pay fees may result in the loss of the
enrolment position.
All statutory holidays are observed and
fees have been calculated over the year. Where classes fall on public holidays,
no make-up classes or refunds are given.
One terms’ notice in writing must be
provided to cease enrolment at The Academy.
It is the parent’s and student’s
responsibility to read the notice board on a weekly basis and to read
newsletters, which will be sent via post with the accounts & posted on the
web site.
The Academy will aim to provide a safe
learning environment to reduce the risk of injury. It should be recognized by
all students, parents/guardians that dance by its very nature carries a risk of
injury or accident.
It is the student's parents/guardians
responsibility to notify their teacher or the office in the event of
injury/medical condition prior to class.
A first aid kit is available to any student
through their teacher.
Tutors will be required to touch students
to enforce corrections, where appropriate.
The Wellington Dance Academy students are
under supervision whilst in class time only. While we endeavor to provide a
safe environment, teachers and staff can not be responsible for students
outside their allocated class time.
Each student will be required to attend at
least one holiday programme each year. Every effort will be made to provide
ample notice. Each student participating in a concert or performance is
required to attend extra rehearsals, dress rehearsals and all performances.
Concerts
and Group dances will be filmed professionally.
Photography or videoing of students in
class and at concerts is not permitted. This is for the safety & well being
of each individual student and to comply with the privacy act regulations.
Choreography for classes, performances and
competitions remain the artistic and intellectual property of The Wellington
Dance Academy and/or the syllabus providers. Choreography must not be copied or
used without prior permission of the Wellington Dance Academy
This enrolment form collects personal
information about you. Under the Privacy Act 1993 you are entitled to have
access to, and request correction of, this information. It is held at the Wellington
Dance Academy Dance's premises at 186 Thorndon Quay, Wellington, New Zealand.
The Wellington Dance Academy maintains
the right to dismiss any student who breaches any of the stated Term &
Conditions, damages property or causes severe disruptions to any class. The
decision is at the discretion of the dance Directors.
